He changed his name to avoid confusion when rapper Fabolous gained popularity. Atkinson, now 36, attended I.A.R in NYC, where he honed his skills in engineering and beat-making, using Reason software, a synth, and Pro Tools.

Hip Hop and Dancehall are his main genres, with major influences including Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Bounty Killer, and Lady Saw. His passion for music began in his teenage years during the 90s when he juggled records on his friend’s sound system, Black Gold Sound System, and participated in open mic sessions.
