Pompis ‘Star Boy’:

Pompis Reggae Dancehall Caribbean Artist was born in Paris from a Guadeloupean father and an Metis African mother. It is between Martinique and French Guiana it grows and he makes his first steps as an artist in sound systems and while doing “freestyles” with friends, that’s the reason of the mixture of sounds and Creole in his music. Music lover, high with Afro-American music, Pompis which enjoys an “extreme musical ear” will write his first texts inspired by the reality of life and young women he observes. The female he likes to talk, because it just feels good.

2012: The Consecration:

Since his first public success ‘AyeAyeAye‘ released in 2011, the singer connects tubes. 2012 will be the year of his consecration. The public quickly becomes a fan of Pompis. The Caribbean is interested in him. During summer 2012, the artist release ‘A No We Dat‘ on the Black Punch Riddim Produced by Dj Jo, a funny story with which it imposes its style and tells the story of a materialistic woman. This is also the year in which the artist’s temperament rather quiet ignite dance floors.

With ‘Rude Boy‘ on the Gangsta Kouada Riddim Produced by DJ Fly For (Mafio House) And ‘To Wine‘ extract from a compilation ‘Don’s Colector 4‘ Pompis even more impose himself. He released the single ‘Mo ke bay‘ , and then ‘Shalala’, a title in a festive Sound System ambiance, extract of ‘Ti Moun Ghetto’. The hit ‘ASAN‘ in featuring with DJ Foxx-T has emerged as a successful club, TV and radio. Over the course of its evolution, the artist benefits of promising collaborations with DJ Mike One, DJ Jaïro or Dj Foxx-T. Admiral T, JMI Sissoko, Elephant Man, Kalash, Kaf Kalabar, Saïk, X-Man, Jahyanai, Maldon Msay, Profa, Dasinga Lefside are few artists with whom he sings.

Between 2012 and 2014, Pompis has already toured the scenes of France, Belgium, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Indian Ocean. And each time, it is very welcome. The video clip of his hit ‘Independent Gyal‘ with Kalash, extract #2 Classic, reggae dancehall album of Kalash one of the most sold in Antilles-Guiana, totals today more than 30 million views on youtube like the 1st single of Givmeall, ‘Encore et Encore‘. A mix of zouk and Dancehall, shared with Layanah, Saïk and Axel Tony …

Starboy:

In July 2014, he presents a more personal project. ‘U Dada‘ is an energetic dance as rewarding. A first single from his album Starboy, released in October 27 2014, distributed by Musicast. It gives us a preview of its festive universe, colorful, tropical, however, it addresses sensitive themes on youth violence on catchy music that clearly convey the strong message highlighting the dance.

Nominated at lindor in French Guiana in September 2015, he won the award for best urban album. It is also nominated for the Hit Lokal Awards 2016.

Legacy:

Pompis has made significant contributions to the reggae and dancehall genres, not only in the Caribbean but also on an international scale. His music has inspired many young artists and continues to be a staple in the Caribbean music industry. He is known for his energetic performances and his ability to engage and uplift his audience.
