Fast rising dancehall artist Shayy Soprano recently announced her pregnancy on social media after posting pictures of her and her fiancé at the couple’s gender reveal party held last Thursday, August 7.

Born Shauna McCrea in New York, Shayy Soprano is currently in Jamaica where she hosted her gender reveal party in Maggotty, St Elizabeth.

“I am currently 6 months (25 weeks) pregnant. This is our first child together. He wanted a girl so bad and he finally got his wish!” Exclaimed an excited her after the gender reveal.

A year ago, in May 2024, however, she was surprised with the proposal at a private venue in Kingston.

“I got engaged last year on May 17th in Kingston, Jamaica. It was very intimate and I was so surprised,” she expressed. “Yes, we are in love and trying to show girls out there how to secure your relationship before a baby, and have a 2 parent household,” she continued.

While the pregnancy and her upcoming nuptials have put a pause on her music career for the moment, she is still writing new songs and doing promotions on her previously released tracks. These include ‘Go Dey’, which was released last September on the Bad Gyal Entertainment label, and even a track called ‘Hot Gyal’ featured on the legendary Sly & Robbie Zoom Dancehall album, which came out last October.
