Inspired by his eldest brother, Ray Grant, a recording artist, Bryan developed a passion for music and picked up the guitar before the age of eight. Although his focus on the guitar waned during his teenage years, he later returned to it when preparing for a college audition. He went on to study Caribbean, Latin American & Jazz Studies at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, majoring in guitar.

While at Edna Manley College, Bryan Art was discovered by George Miller, who offered him his first major break as a guitarist in Luciano’s Fire House Band. Touring with Luciano, Mikey General, and Sizzla provided Bryan with invaluable industry experience. Later, he became the bandleader and guitarist for Bushman’s Grass Roots Band. When not on tour, Bryan taught music at local schools while simultaneously pursuing his dream of becoming a singer and songwriter.
