A Rapid Breakthrough in French Rap

In the space of just a few months, 1PLIKÉ140 has managed to carve out a place for himself in the French rap landscape. With several projects already released and a strong drill identity, he stands out as one of the young artists to watch closely. Gentsu invites you to learn more about this fast-rising name.

Clamart in the Spotlight

While Booba—who never misses an opportunity to mock Kaaris, most recently over his latest album not reaching gold status—continues to represent Boulogne-Billancourt, other artists are also shining a light on the Hauts-de-Seine. Thanks to PLK, the city of Clamart has already gained visibility on the rap scene. But he is not alone. 1pliké140 is another artist from Clamart who is gradually asserting himself and helping put the area on the musical map.

Origins and Musical Influences

Born in 2001, 1PLIKÉ140 is a French rapper of Comorian origin, raised in the La Plaine district of Clamart. Musically, his universe will resonate with fans of Lyonzon. Like the Lyon-based group, he draws strong inspiration from UK drill, a genre that has been steadily gaining ground in France. His ability to master this style early on has quickly set him apart from many emerging artists of his generation.

From Drill Freestyles to First Projects

1PLIKÉ140’s rise truly began with a series of drill freestyles released between late 2019 and early 2020. These performances helped him gain attention from the French-speaking rap audience and establish a solid online presence. Riding this momentum, he released his first EP, 1PLIKTOI, on June 12, 2020. The project, largely produced by Binks Beatz, was well received and marked a promising start to his discography.

Consistency and Artistic Growth

Only six months later, the rapper returned with a second EP, 1PLIKTO VOLUME 2, a ten-track project that confirmed his work ethic and artistic direction. Supported by social media exposure and the unique context of the COVID-19 lockdowns, 1PLIKÉ140 spent time refining his craft in the studio, delivering new drill-driven tracks that reinforced his identity.

An Artist to Watch

Still at the beginning of his career, 1PLIKÉ140 has already demonstrated consistency, stylistic coherence, and a strong connection to the drill movement. With his background, influences, and growing discography, he is clearly an artist who promises to deliver more impactful releases in the months and years to come.
